Our excitement today was walking a mile to do our wash at the laundry mat. Kyra thought she wanted to wear sunglasses for the hike. She is also a natural model I guess. At the mat, the local women were having conversations with Kyra. I hope she was telling them good things! She was chatting like crazy. I tried to figure out what they were saying with my translation book. I did figure out one person said, "there is six minutes left on the machine." I was real proud of myself. They all laughed. Most Marshallese know basic English but choose not to speak it. I do love the sense of community here and the friendliness of the people.
